Medical Services
Wellness Exams and Preventative Vaccinations
The best medicine for your pet is preventative medicine. Since all aspects of your pet's life affect his or her health, we want to help you with more than vaccinations, tests for parasites, and an annual exam. We talk to you about your pet's dental needs, proper exercise and training, the best diet available for your pet's age and condition, and various techniques for correcting behavior problems. We encourage you to participate in health care decisions. The veterinarians and staff at Kenwood Animal Hospital offer preventive care that is essential to the development and long-term health of your pet.
Medical Care
Kenwood Animal Hospital is a well-equipped modern veterinary hospital. In order to diagnose your pet's illness, we have some of the finest and advanced instruments and techniques available. Our in-house laboratory expedites diagnosis and treatment with a wide range of test results, including blood chemistry panels, blood cell counts and fecal and urine analysis.
Nutritional Counseling
We carry the complete line of Royal Canin prescription diet foods. Purina and Hill's veterinary prescription diets are available by special order. Please check with our veterinarians for information regarding your pets nutritional needs.
Behavior Counseling
If your cat or dog exhibits a behavioral concern, the veterinarians at Kenwood Animal Hospital conduct examinations to assess all possible contributing factors in relation to the problem. A behavior modification program may be suggested in order to meet the needs of the client and their pet. Each client and concern is treated on an individual basis.
Transportation Services
Kenwood Animal Hospital offers a Pet Pick-Up and Delivery Service by advance reservation. Please call the hospital if you are interested in our transportation service.

Surgical Services
Kenwood Hospital for Animals offers a variety of surgical procedures using the most current and safest anesthetics available, and performed by our capable surgeon, Dr. Freya Moskowitz. Surgical patients are monitored by a dedicated team of veterinary technicians, alongside state-of-the-art monitoring equipment. Patients are examined thoroughly prior to their procedure, and diagnostic tests performed in order to detect any irregularities prior to sedation. Appropriate management of your pet's comfort is a high priority, and is especially important to the recovery process. And finally, post-operative home care instructions are detailed prior to discharge, so that you can be confident in the ongoing care your pet is receiving, even once they return home.
Dental Care—Dentistry
Through advanced training, experience and specialized equipment, we are able to offer comprehensive dental care for your pet. We believe preventative care is the best approach for long-term oral health. Our hospital is well equipped to provide dental care services to insure your pet receives proper oral health care.
Grooming
Our dog groomer, Reuben, apprenticed with a master groomer and is expert at the sort of fine detail work that our clients demand. We also welcome your dog or cat for regular or medical bathing services by our technical staff. Daily appointments are available, but please be sure to schedule in advance! Some Home Grooming Tips for your Dog

Boarding
We offer separate boarding for cats and dogs. Cats are exercised daily within their sun-filled suite, and entertained by a variety of toys and picture windows. Short-term dog boarding is available in indoor cages and includes two daily walks outdoors. Supplement your dog's boarding experience by adding playdates (available in 2 hour increments, or the full day) in our Doggy Daycare facility, Kenwood Canine Clubhouse. Medical or "Special Care" boarding services are available for pets with specific health concerns, or other special needs.
Reservations for boarding should be made in advance. We invite you to tour our boarding facilities at your convenience.

Pet Identification and Microchip System - A microchip is a tiny electronic device, about the size and shape of a grain of rice. It is implanted beneath a pet's skin between the shoulder blades, and stays there for the pet's entire life. This procedure is as easy and as painless as a vaccination.
Each microchip has a unique number. This number, along with information about the owner and pet, are added to a national pet registry. Most veterinarians and animal shelters have electronic scanners for detecting and reading these implanted microchips. If a lost pet is found, and the microchip is scanned, the registry is called and the owner is contacted.
We offer the "ResQ" pet microchip system, which is recognized nationwide and throughout Europe. For complete information on the ResQ Microchip System, please click here.
